At Rankin Veterinary Hospital PC we encourage potential pet owners and those looking to add a new pet to the family to adopt when possible. Adoption helps a pet that is in need. Every year millions of pets end up in shelters and rescue groups for various reasons including abandonment, surrender, and cruelty. Adopting saves a life and in return you will get the love that only a healthy happy pet can give.

The City of Sand Springs operates the Sand Springs Animal Welfare Facility. Recently the citizens of Sand Springs voted in favor of constructing a new animal welfare facility. This will dramatically increase the City’s investment into animal welfare and their goal to have a no kill shelter. There are several non-profit groups that work with the city in promoting adoption, defraying costs of food and supplies, and facilitating transfers of pets to larger animal welfare groups.

So if you are looking to add a pet to your home that will give you endless love try the shelter first. You will be saving a life and getting so much in return.
The shelter’s current location is:
